MCES is national leader in assisting law enforcement agencies with mental health issues. MCES has been recognized for its work by the U.S. Department of Justice, the Law Enforcement Assistance Agency, the American Psychiatric Association and the Public Citizen’s Health Research Group.
Our Criminal Justice Department provides community based crisis intervention services, 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week to a wide variety of individuals. The Department also provides on-call services for Montgomery County Aging & Adult Services as certified Protective Service Agents.
Services are provided by MCES staff, including registered nurses, doctors and psychiatrists, that are educated and trained in dealing with the criminal justice and forensic populations. We are the sole designated facility in Montgomery County for initial involuntary psychiatric evaluations and hospitalization.
The goals of the Criminal Justice Department are
